MN Invents Website is Live!

MN INVENTS is a poster series by Replace, designed to celebrate the inventive spirit of Minnesota. It’s the secret & ongoing history of the great Minnesota inventive culture.

MN INVENTS things like the first digital computer, the first supercomputer, the first pop-up toaster, the first retractable safety belt, the first in-ear hearing aid, the first pacemaker, the first skyway, the first pair of water-skis, the first internet search engine, the first handled grocery bag, Spam, and just recently, a remote-controlled helicopter you can fly hands-free with only your mind! MN INVENTS wants to reveal this amazing inventive Minnesota history to the world. The list of inventions is very long, and gets longer every year.

Replace Featured on the Egotist

We’re honored and humbled to be featured on the Minneapolis Egotist for our design work with the Seward Coop.

We are just as honored to have worked with such a great organization (Seward Coop) on such a fun project. Speaking of ego, also check out the fresh new Seward website, (which we also designed.)

Replace at (Re)design

It’s award season again and the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) is putting on the (Re)design competition focusing on the impact of design projects, including environmental, economic, social and cultural. Replace is honored to have four of the thirty-six 2013 finalists going onto the final round be our own projects! Special thanks to Birchwood Cafe, Equal Exchange with Tea.coop, Naked Civics, and Chowgirls for your partnership in these projects and in your ongoing awesomeness! All of the work to come soon on our website.

We’d also like to give a shout out to the newest Replace addition Haley for her work on Epic‘s Youth Farm Rebrand also being one of the finalists.

You can see the rest of the finalists here. You can also check out Epic on Facebook here.

Eat Adventurously!

Replace client and local celebrity, Andrew Zimmern, is in the press again. This time we see him on the cover of Vita.mn promoting some eats that are perhaps off the beaten path. You can find a list of the restaurants here or just track down AZ Canteen food truck for lunch instead!AZ on Vita.mn

In Ink

We recently received the book How to Create Your Own Gig Posters by Ruthann Godollei and were pleased to see we were featured multiple times along side many of our own favorite artists! Thanks for including us Ruthann! You can buy your own copy of the book here!

Pure Bars, Purely Good.

Our friends over at Pure Bar just recently announced their new line of Pure products: The Ancient Grains bars as well as their fruit line including Fruit & Veggie Strips and Fruit Sandwiches. Both of these product lines were designed by us here at Spunk Design Machine and we have to say… they look good enough to eat.
